Violent crime effects families, here we support those who are left behind.

Most people will never know someone who was murdered, unfortunately we not only knew someone who was, we were related to, intimate with, or best friends with them. Our community section is an opportunity for those who were left behind to vent frustration, ask questions and seek support from others Neighbors.
How to be a Neighbor is a series of activities, journal prompts, learning materials and challenges designed to help you understand grief, face grief head on, to honor your loved one, and be a better Neighbor.
Unlike those who lose family to medical issues or accidents, Neighbors face another challenge, attending court, seeing the person who killed your loved one, and dealing with an imperfect justice system. Browse our resources, how to guides and resource link for tips and tricks to help navigate this extremely difficult challenge.
While our lessons, prompts, and challenges are science and researched backed, Neighbors does not provide Professional Mental Health. Want a counselor? View our guide on finding counselors, if there is an emergency please call the linked national crisis line, or 911.
Neighbors is new. After experiencing the loss of murder, we found there are very few resources for those few like us. Most people will never understand the guilt, shame, anger, hate and fear following a violent death as you and your fellow Neighbors do. If you have suggestions on content, please email us at the link provided.
Help us raise awareness of our mission and programs by sharing our website, social media pages, and events with your friends, family, and colleagues.
